Manarola – it was a place you see browsing photos on the Internet, and most of the famous photographers have captured this incredible place. It’s been a dream for me to reach this place for a long time, and yeah, what they told you about dreams, they don’t come easily. Getting there is another whole story to tell. I knew that when I was there, I had to stay in Manarola for quick access to the photography spots. As I know by now, nothing is easy 🙂 I made sure to be there and spend as long as I needed to bring a good capture piece to the gallery. Also, I wanted to make sure I brought back something different than most other photographers. I always saw golden-colored clouds above this Italian village at sunset… but how do you create something better than that? The answer was lying in the blue hour, or otherwise named twilight. I had to make sure we had some clouds to fill the sky nicely, the artificial light was not too strong to take away from the ambient light. Another thing I had to pay attention to was the exposure in the highlights and shadows. I wanted to keep everything well-lit and capture all the details I could. The composition had to be flawless. The only way this would work was to have the right amount of light coming in from the front of the city without any clouds to cover the horizon. This way, I could get the shot I had been imagining for a long time. After a few days of getting there at 4 am for the morning blue hour and staying there after sunset for the night blue hour, I got the photo I had always wanted to have. Hanging the photo on my gallery walls and having the proper light on the picture is as pleasurable as candy in a kid’s mouth.
Traveling to the Dolomites in Italy was a dream come true. Capturing the beauty of Saint Giovanni amidst breathtaking mountains brought me pure happiness, despite limited time. The Dolomites’ weather changed rapidly and unpredictably. I embraced the challenge, dedicated to capturing its essence. Enchanting sunrises, captivating sunsets, and different times of the day were all part of my endeavor. Three full days allowed me to capture the Dolomites in various moods. One day, amidst pouring rain, I waited for three hours. As the rain subsided, light filtered through the majestic mountains, creating an out-of-this-world scene, a divine landscape. Witnessing the interplay between light and nature made photography magical. The Dolomites’ ever-changing weather and breathtaking vistas allowed me to capture its unique beauty and charm.
Overall, my journey was unforgettable. It fulfilled a long-standing dream, teaching me patience, perseverance, and embracing nature’s unpredictability. The memories of that mesmerizing sunrise, the ethereal atmosphere around the church and mountains, will forever hold a moment of pure magic.
The Grand Canal in Venice. It’s a bustling waterway, the busiest I’ve ever seen in Europe. Amidst the chaos of boats and gondolas, I yearned for a photo that showcased the serene beauty of this iconic city.
One evening, as the sun began to set, I found the perfect spot. I envisioned warm streetlights casting a painterly glow over the city’s blue hues. However, luck was not on my side. Every time I tried to capture the scene, a boat would disrupt the water, spoiling the reflection.Frustration mounted as the minutes ticked by. With each passing boat, I felt my chance slipping away. The thought of leaving without that perfect shot was disheartening.Yet, I refused to give up.
Determined, I decided to wait a little longer. Darkness embraced the city, and just as I thought hope was fading, there it was – a moment of stillness. The boats seemed to halt in unison, and the water calmed as if nature itself was granting me a brief respite. With trembling hands, I clicked the shutter, praying that the photo would turn out as I had imagined. The anticipation was agonizing, but when I reviewed the shot, my heart soared with joy. It was perfect – the lights, the hues, and the tranquil water.
A masterpiece amidst the chaos. In that fleeting moment, I realized the power of patience and persistence. Sometimes, life tests us, pushing us to our limits, but if we hold on and believe in our vision, we can capture something extraordinary. And so, I present to you this excellent photo – a testament to the beauty of Venice, and a reminder that amidst the drama, there’s always room for serenity and art
I added one more B&W photo with a touch of color to my collection, capturing the essence of the unique village of Pienza in Tuscany. It’s a place I fell in love with, surrounded by breathtaking beauty. The narrow streets lined with medieval buildings, adorned with vibrant flower pots, lead the way to the famous Pienza Cathedral. In the photo, a local couple strolls hand in hand, the woman’s flowing dress subtly highlighted with a dodge of red. Pienza’s timeless charm and vibrant life blend harmoniously, making it one of my favorite villages.
