Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between photo paper and HD metal printS?

Photo Paper Prints

Photo paper is a classic, versatile, and affordable option that provides a wide range of possibilities for displaying art. It is often the best choice for capturing fine detail.

A key consideration for photo prints is that they require framing and protective glass, which can add significant cost, particularly for larger sizes. Without a frame, they are more susceptible to damage from handling, moisture, and fading over time.

HD Metal Prints

HD metal prints are a modern, durable, and sleek way to display fine art photographs. They are made by printing a high-definition image onto a metal panel, such as a specially treated aluminum sheet. This process results in incredibly vibrant, saturated colors and a glossy finish that can make the image feel dimensional.

HD metal prints are known for their durability and longevity. They are resistant to scratches, impact, water, and fading from UV light, making them suitable for high-traffic areas or even places like bathrooms and kitchens. They are typically ready to hang with a floating mount, which eliminates the need for a frame and provides a clean, minimalist look. While the "HD" name is more about the overall visual appeal, the actual detail may be slightly less sharp compared to an inkjet print on fine art paper.

2. What materials do you use for your prints and frames?

We are committed to using only the highest quality, archival-grade materials for all of our prints to ensure they are vibrant, durable, and last for a lifetime without fading or losing color. We understand that a print is a long-term investment, and our focus on craftsmanship and quality is a key part of our brand's value proposition.

Here is a breakdown of the materials we use:

  • Photo Paper: For our photo paper prints, we use a premium, archival-grade paper. These papers are a classic and versatile medium that excels at capturing fine details and deep tones. These prints are carefully produced and can be easily framed.
  • HD Metal: Our HD metal prints are created using a high-definition image printed directly onto a specially treated aluminum sheet. We use a dye-sublimation process with high-quality inks to produce a sleek, glossy, and highly durable print. The metal surface makes colors appear incredibly vibrant and saturated, providing a unique aesthetic. These prints are also exceptionally durable, resistant to scratches, water, and fading from UV light. They come ready to hang without a frame, giving them a clean, modern look.

3. How do I choose the right size art for my wall?

Selecting the right size for your wall art can be challenging, but a few simple guidelines can help you find the perfect piece to transform your space. The goal is to ensure the art feels balanced and intentional, rather than looking too small and disconnected from its surroundings.

General Guidelines for Sizing Wall Art:

  • Measure your space: A great rule of thumb is to choose art that is between 1/2 and 3/4 the width of the wall or the furniture it will be placed over. For example, if you have a wall that is 10 feet wide, your art (including the mat and frame) should be between 68 and 90 inches wide.
  • The 60-75% Rule: For a piece of art that will hang above a sofa, a common guideline is to choose something that is 60-75% the width of the couch. For a standard 8-foot-wide couch, this would mean the art should be between 48 and 72 inches wide. A simpler rule is to aim for a total width that is about 2/3 the width of your sofa.
  • Groupings: This rule applies whether you are hanging a single piece or a grouping of multiple artworks, such as a gallery wall. If you are creating a gallery wall, the overall width of the entire grouping should follow the same sizing rules. You can mix different sizes of prints to create visual interest.

Hanging Height:

  • Above furniture: Hang your artwork 6 to 8 inches above the top of the furniture it sits above, such as a couch or a console table. This ensures the art feels connected to the furniture below it and isn't "floating" too high.

On an empty wall: If you are hanging a piece on a blank wall, the center of the artwork should be at eye level, which is generally considered to be about 57 to 60 inches from the floor.

4. Can I order a custom piece or a different size?

Yes, we understand that finding the perfect piece of art for your unique space often requires a specific size. Custom sizes are available to meet your specific needs and preferences. We can also work with you on specific requests to ensure the final piece is a perfect fit for your home or office.

To discuss custom sizing or a bespoke piece, please reach out to our team via email or web chat, and we will be happy to assist you in bringing your vision to life.

5. How do I care for my new artwork?

Properly caring for your fine art print ensures its longevity and protects your investment for a lifetime.

Our prints are made with archival-grade materials, but a few simple precautions will help them retain their vibrant color and quality for generations to come.

General Care and Display Tips:

  • Mind the Light: While our prints are made with fade-resistant materials, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or strong electric lights (other than LEDs) can cause fading over time. To preserve your print, avoid hanging it in areas that receive intense, sustained sunlight. For framed prints, using UV-filtering glass or acrylic provides an additional layer of protection against damaging UV rays.
  • Control the Environment: Avoid hanging artwork in areas with extreme temperature fluctuations or high humidity, such as directly above a fireplace, a radiator, or on a damp wall. Consistent, moderate humidity is ideal to prevent materials from warping or cracking.
  • Proper Handling: For any prints on photo paper, always handle them with care, preferably using clean, white cotton gloves to avoid fingerprints, smudges, or other damage.

Material-Specific Care:

  • HD Metal Prints: These prints are exceptionally durable. They are resistant to scratches, water, and fading, making them an excellent choice for kitchens, bathrooms, or high-traffic areas. To clean, you can simply wipe the surface with a damp cloth to remove any dust or debris.
  • Framed Prints on Paper: A proper mat and frame can help preserve your artwork. The mat creates a crucial air gap between the print and the glass, which prevents condensation and protects the paper from damage.

6. What are your shipping and return policies?

We are dedicated to ensuring your artwork arrives safely and on time.

We have clear policies in place to give you peace of mind throughout the ordering process.

7. How long will it take to receive my order?

We understand that you're excited to receive your new artwork. Each piece is custom-made to your specifications, ensuring the highest quality. Our production process typically takes 5 to 10 business days.

Once your order is complete, it will be shipped to you, and transit time is generally 3 to 5 business days. This means you can expect to receive your artwork within an estimated total of 8 to 15 business days from the time you place your order.

8. Do the prints come framed and ready to hang?

The framing and hanging method for your artwork depends on the type of print you select.

  • Photo Paper Prints: Our photo paper prints do not come framed. This option is perfect for customers who prefer to choose their own matting and frame to match their personal style and decor. These prints are intended for traditional framing to ensure their long-term preservation.
  • HD Metal and Acrylic Prints: Both our HD metal and acrylic prints are designed to be displayed without a traditional frame. They come with a ready-to-hang floating mount on the back, which gives the artwork a modern, clean, and minimalist look, making it appear as if it is floating away from the wall. This means they arrive at your door prepared for immediate display, with no additional framing required.

Did you know that the word "photography" is a combination of two Greek root words?
"Photo" means light. "Graphia" means to write or draw. So photographers are really storytellers who use light instead of words. The stories we tell are based on our individual perception. If we all had the same eye, all the pictures would look the same.
